First week back to school
The first week back to school was not too bad! although got some teacher order here order there, on the whole it was okay. But my dislike for the science teacher has not changed since. She is still expecting us to do things differently from other classes, like not talking and seating at your own seat when teacher is late. I mean, it is so normal! every class, except the teachers favourite classes, the GEP classes!! Haha but then overall is like that. Then she try to teach us that sound travels. Does anyone know that? She is so "Smart"! All of us do not know that!
On Monday, we went back to school quite relaxed, Chinese teacher Lin lao shi did not come, so we were quite free, because the relief teacher is not strict. Then English teacher told us at english period that a PE teacher is going to be in our lessons. I was like =.= you also not english teacher come for what? Then after recess Maths teacher come in and ask us to read decimals chapter by ourselves. Then want us to do practise one. I think we too relaxed already, because by the time science teacher come in, we already bo pian ( no choice ) but to listen to her insulting but illuminating comments. Then we had PE at the end of school. PE teacher come in, but it was not him. A teacher called Mr N come in and tell us he gotta do some admin stuff, then talk a lot of crap, and finally the 1.6 km run (practise) on thursday. When we went home, do homework then go play computer. Relaxed day again tomorrow? Think again!
Tuesday is torture. Got science again but teacher didn't come. Then chinese teacher come in talk about new group and new seating. Move until me and my friends are miles apart. But it wasn't too bad. Then Social Studies is torture. Have to go and buy the materials for ss project, make our pockets empty. Then maths was not so bad, practise two and three can hand in by thursday. But it's like so hard, no wonder can hand in later! After get home, however i finished it.
This is the first two days, Mon and Tue. Tomorrow will post Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun.
Hi guys! I am blogging today because i have experienced a very good 3rd week of my holiday! I went to a camp called ' Discovery Vacation Camp. ' Want to know more, continue reading! And I cant rmb the food that I had, so i'll leave that out. And there was two leaders, Johanna and Silin. And of course, Ms. Fauziah and her friend Mr. Shafue, teaching A-9.
Day 1, introduction day.
I woke up at 8 am, watched a little TV and ate my breakfast. When i was done, at 8.45 am, we set off for RGPS, Raffles Girls Primary School, where was supposed to be the campus of the DVC camp i was going to. When I reached, me and my brother took our allocated seats in the canteen. I felt very awkward because I did not know anyone there. But by the time we went back to the classroom and introduced ourselves, I found out that many of them had the same feeling as me. After ice-breaking games, we went down for morning tea. After that, when we went back to class 15 minutes later we went through the Bicycle History and a Schematic Approach in it. After that, we did a mini rusting experiment and added things like nail, staple, copper wire etc. Then we went down for lunch. Should be fried rice, and it was delicious. While finishing the lunch, I went to play basketball with Tatie(holland guy), Luke and a few others. When lunch was over, we did Light and Sound - an experiment that we did on Johanna's bike, she brought it specially for us. After that wonderful and cool experiment, we went down for afternoon tea. When we came back from that, it was almost 5.pm, almost time to go home. But during that short period of time, we did a mini-sized water turbine. Water turbines generate eletricity when they spin. We used a plastic cup and poked holes all over. The top holes were for thread so that we could hold the thread and spin it. Unfortunately, I failed. Have I told you yet? I have a secret, my Art and Crafts is simply bad. But it wasn't too bad because before we could have finished it, it was time to go home.
Day 2, Robotics day.
When I reached RGPS today, I was wearing an exclusive DVC shirt - we were going to have a robotics lesson. When we went back to class, however, we played mathematical games. Mostly I got it wrong, but it was fun. We went for morning tea. When we finally went back to class, the robotics master was awaiting our arrival. At the start, we thought it was impossible. But as he came round to teach us, we could make the robot and even make it stop at a dark line! We had so much fun we did not want to go for lunch, but unfortunately, we couldn't. At lunch, I sat beside the two friend teachers and hear them crack jokes and when some students from A-9 came over to ask a question, Mr. Shafue gave them MCQ. I couldn't really remember, but i think it went like this : " I'll give you three choices. 1. Put it in your pocket. 2. Put it in my pocket 3. Throw it away. " I laughed instinctly at the joke until my ribs hurt. After lunch, we did some friction experiments, and how fun they were! Friction should be taught in Primary 4. Then we went down to tea. After tea, we made a skeleton model. Mine couldn't move, complete failure. Went home after that.
Day 3, Aerodynamics.
When I reached RGPS, I was already talking to a friend on the way. When we went back to the class after the announcement that a guy lost his phone, we went back to class to study AERODYNAMICS!! We each made a parachute and also a rotor. A rotor is a four-sided boomerang. After coming up for tea after the lesson about aerodynamics, we studied Simple machines, such as Levers, wheel and axels. We went down to lunch and we ate bee hoon. For dessert, we each got a banana. After lunch, We studied gears on a bicycle( Again Johanna brought it.) Then we drew gears and made a gear model. Silin and Johanna walked around helping us cut the gears on top of cardboard. I made one, and when Dr.Seet ( Camp organiser) stepped out of the classroom, I had won many things. After afternoon tea, we each went down to play for half a hour at the court.
Day four, Excursion day.
I woke up at the crack of dawn, wore the shirt ( AGAIN ) and set off for RGPS. We were going to Kent Ridge park!! When we reached RGPS, the bus was already waiting. We packed our tea in our bags and we set off. When we reached there, the three " teachers " debated on the road upon reaching a " fork " . Finally they decided on a canopy walk, a very high bridge that could see everything for miles. But there was a problem, and that was when we were walking, we were walking on wooden planks. Every few steps there would be a gap, and as I was afraid of heights, what could I do except look down? But when we reached the end (FINALLY) , the teachers looked at the map and was like saying ( Uh-oh ) . What was the bad news? We had to walk on the canopy walk again. I almost fainted at the news. Too bad, no way out except back there. So the journey started again, but i knew where was the gaps and avoided them. We went back to where we started and walked some more to a place where we were supposed to draw our map. I did a fictional one , about treasure. Then we took the bus back to RGPS to have lunch. After that, we dipped some sponge in tea, and dabbed it onto the map, to make it look ancient. After that, we had tea and played some games before we went home.
Day 5, Last and concert day.
At RGPS, we went back to class immediately, as time was short. We cut out and folded some shapes, and after that, we went for tea. After tea, we used the shapes we did just now to make a baby mobile. Not so sucessful, however, but was satisfying. Lunch came a little earlier, as halfway through lunch, we had to practise the concert. I was the narrator and Actor 1, which had almost the most to say. After practise, we did the cheer ( At end of post). Then we went back to class to find out the findings of the rusting experiment. We also did some preparation for the concert. When it was time, we went to the hall of RGPS, with many parents. When we had settled down, all the other classes voted us to start the concert. Unwillingly, we went up the stage to perform. The performance was mainly Actor 1, 2 and 3 talking about what Actor 3 did during the holidays. As we mentioned the experiments and what we made, fellow classmates came up stage to show the things we did. It was very fun. At the end, we picked up our letters, which made up to be : D-I-S-C-O-V-E-R-Y -- V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N -- CAMP! And then we did the cheer. Then S-2 came up and told us what happens in a biscuit factory. ( they went to one on day 4 ) And A-6 also did a similar skit to us, and A-9 made things out of newspaper such as a mask, armor, etc. At the end, A-6 won the best concert prize, and one of every class won best camper award. So happens that I got the B-5 award (YAY!!) and S-2 best class award. When we went home, I regretted not getting my teacher's number.
The cheer goes like this :
Hey people,
We are so fine,
We are so find we'll blow your mind
go B-5
Go, go go B-5!
Go, go go, B-5!!
PS: Words in cheer that are red are clapping words ( or letters. )

Sorry guys, for the long gap between the last post and this. Was quite busy, but this post is about my holiday in Bintan. My Uncle and Aunt, Jenkins and Mabel, to be known as Zenyee, came with me and i am sure they will update something. www.zenyee.comBefore the trip, I went to stay over at my uncle and aunt's house. ( Zenyee ) Anyway, we were going the same place the next day. Tanah Merah Ferry TerminalDay one, Bintan Lagoon Resort
We took a large vessel, the Aria Bupala, to Bintan after breakfast at the terminal. There we took a bus to the hotel. Due to the limited seats in the bus, we had to split and sit separately. After the 20 minutes ride to the hotel , we were told that we could not check in to the hotel just yet. As it was still early, we went to Leisure Centre, a place inside Bintan Lagoon Resort which provides a rather wide variety of things that we could do. ( we spent 70% doing the things ) We first went to Laser Quest, a game that requires a suit ( consists of gun that hooks on to the armor and the armor which holds 5 parts to shoot using the gun ) . We paid and went into the map where we were supposed to find the other team in the dark map. As my brother decided not to play, my aunt had to take his place. After that, we went to rent a set of billiard balls to play for an hour as the hotel rooms were not ready. When we finally had finished the billiards game, we went back to the hotel to find out that our rooms were not beside each other. I didn't mind, personally, because we were close enough. After settling down for a while, we went down together for lunch. After lunch, we went for a swim, as the weather was simmering, and it helped me cool down. After that refreshing swim, we relaxed back at the hotel until dinner time, where we ate a mouth-watering buffet by the hotel. As my meals were complimentary, I ate a lot to make full use of the complimentary ticket. After dinner, we were not ready to go back to the room yet, so we walked to Leisure Centre and played Mahjong for an hour. After that we went to the hotel's own version of 7-Eleven and bought potato chips for a party at my uncle and aunt's room. After the party, we ended a day by snoring. Zzzz...
Day two, Bintan Lagoon Resort
We woke up at 7.30am. Surprisingly, my uncle woke up earlier than us. We went down for breakfast. Again, I was complimentary but we ate at Miyako Japanese Restaurant instead because Kopi-O Restaurant ( the buffet restaurant ) was full. Over there we also had a buffet, but smaller. Ray ( my brother ) was eating a piece of bread when we deduced what we were going to do this day. We finally agreed that he could play soccer first ( he brought a soccer ball ) if he finished that piece. He heartily agreed and sure enough, he finished it. We played near the beach after breakfast. Out of sheer luck, there was a mini goal over there as though it had been waiting for us. After that 10 minutes of the ball, we decided to check out the beach. It had a water sports club called Alang-Alang water sports. We decided to go back to the hotel to change to our swimwear. But as we walked, we changed plans. We went to the second swimming pool first, which had two slides ( we found it while walking to the beach ) before going to the beach. At the beach, we played by the waves for a while before renting a kayak and a jetski. After two hours at the beach, we went back to the hotel for lunch. After going to the beach, we found out that we had nothing else to do, so we replayed billiard. Unfortunately, all the tables were being used up, so we had to play pool on a GIGANTIC pool table! we had to play for a hour before we could even finish a game. Tired but happy, we sat down to another round of mahjong, so we could cool down. As my brother, Ray, did not play, he rented a PS2 and played for a little while. My aunt went for a massage midway, and halfway through our last game, Ray ran up and said he wanted to join us, because he said my aunt was supposed to join him, but obviously, did not. And most shockingly, he gave the controller to a stranger to play, and he did not pay. We rushed down after the game, to snatch away the controller ( snatch is a little too harsh ) and played the remaining time. When we looked at the time, we still had about two hours to play, so we rented a basketball and went to the basketball court. At the end, the basketball game turned into a bouncing captain ball's game. When we went back to the hotel to shower and eat, a show that was on channel 5 captured my attention. We ended up eating at 8pm at a italian restaurant. My father ate a chicken kebab. You should have seen how they brought in the kebab! At one point, a caucasian with his female partner walked in and was dining at the same restaurant. It was not a good dinner for us as he,who commented to a waiter that we were too noisy. Either he was too loud, or we were too attentive, because we could hear every word he said. When we were leaving, he heaved a loud sigh as if he had been relieved of a great weight. We didn't care less and left him alone. We went back to the room to see that the show on channel 5 had not finished. We watched the last part and was about to sleep when the Mythbusters show popped up. We ended up watching that for half a hour. Ended another day.
Day three, leaving day.
I woke up to an abrupt start, as we had to wake up a lot earlier to pack. We went for breakfast and then we went to Leisure Center again, to play billiard once again. after that, we went to play Laser Quest again. This time, my brother joined in. After that tiring but fun game, we went for another swim. As time was limited, we could only spend one hour swimming, and then we had to quickly pack, so that we could check out. We ate lunch at a outdoor bar, and when the bus came, we boarded it to the ferry terminal at Bintan. There, we ate nissim noodles, ice cream etc. And at 2.30 sharp, we boarded the Aria Bupala once again, back to Singapore. By how kiasu ( scared of losing something ) the people were, I decided majority were Singaporeans. When we finally arrived back to our native land, I was delighted. We fetched my uncle and aunt home and we went home ourself.
I hope that helps me patch the missing posts, bye for now.
