A month has almost gone. From 1 Feb 2009 onwards, Jan 2009 will be the past. But for me, it will not be the past, but something to learn for the future. I will never forget this month, even the camp, as I got to spend quality time with my best friends.
This month has gone very fast. Going back to school was a very happy thing for me, as I got to see my friends again, especially my best friends, but I did keep in touch with them over the phone and on Msn. I missed them so much...
Then came the Windows to Lit program. Although I did not express interest in Literature, it taught me a lot of things, and even widen my choice of music to the songs of the 70', 80', and 90'.
Overall, it was also very interesting and interactive.
After that, of course, was the "fun" homework that the teachers felt like giving. Included in the package was maths worksheets, revision hw, constructing sentence practise, etc. I felt lazy when I was told that my friends had finished them all in a few hours. I envied them for their working speed.
Even more memorable was the P6 St*r Camp! It taught me moral values like teamwork.. etc. Also taught me ten effective strategies to tackle homework, and how to be independant. Also, the bonding with my best friends and even my friends were fantastic. I will never forget it.
Last but not least, is the long CNY holiday and work-on-the-computer-days. After the camp, two days were dedicated to doing LEAD homework. Me and my best friend, spent a few hours on the MSN video call helping each other. It was very fun! But nearing the end, she got stomach cramp, and finally the pain overcame her. As we were friends, I helped her finish off her last assignment that she did not finish. Isn't that what friends are for?
On the first two days of CNY holidays, I went to visit my cousins, my uncles, so on and so forth. I held a party on the second day from 11.30am to 5pm. After that, my family went to eat and went to my grandfather's place, as he was alone. The reason was that my cousins and family went to Malaysia to visit and stay at their grandmother's place. When we came back, we switched on the TV to watch soccer for a while before retiring to our beds.
Anyway, to cap this blog post off, I want to express a big thank you to my best friends which have supported me for the last one year and Jan 2009.
They are : Xiao Hui*, Hazel*,Timothy*,Kee Hsien*, Chantel and Hui Ming.
Joncel, aka Teo Yong Kang.

PS: Those with *, i won't forget you guys.
Hello! Back from my 3d 2n camp. Think it is fun? Dream on! i would give it a 6/10 as it was not
as fun and exciting as I had imagined it to be. Overall it was fun to be independant and not depending on family members. It was also a memorable experience as I spent quality time with my friends. I must thank Eka training and NYPS, though not the caterers. The food was as disgusting as stored food for a few days. Yucks! ( I am going to skip what we ate as much as possible as I don't want to relieve the horrible memories)
First Day
First day was not at all fun, even though we had an excursion to East Coast Park. I arrived at school at the normal time, and after assembly, we proceeded to the hall for briefing and meeting our coaches for the first time to form groups and make the group flag, group cheer and group name. Our coach was Coach Nazreen, and she was very patient with us throughout the camp.
( Our name was Kampong, the other group was Istana. Will put the respective cheers at the end of this post later on. Thnks :D)
After a few hours in the stuffy hall, we finally went up to our classrooms to put our bags ( and luggages :O) and leave for ECP. On the bus, me and Yi Xiang sat behind Min Yee and her partner, and teased her all the way to our destination. ( Btw, our destination was a very deserted(wu lu) place). We put our bags somewhere near the meeting point and gathered. We were to build a rocket to launch a rocket(simple). It was " a lot " of fun.
When we got back, we had a shower and changed into comfortable clothes. After we bathed, we went for dinner. ( Not really, we ate on the floor.) After that, we had another debrief and went to sleep.
Second Day
This day was not as worse as the first day. I rose and shined at 5.20 a.m, then went to brush my teeth. After that, we went to the canteen to eat.. NASI LEMAK IN THE MORNING. EWW. After that, we departed to Sentosa. We were given clues(Pictures) and we had to go and find the place. If we found it, we would get 10 pts. We also went to Palawan Beach and found a group of tourists willing to help us. We got majority of our points from them. Thank you, England tourists! Hope you have a good stay at Singapore!
After lunch came a program called "Cultura". Mainly consisting of Indian and Malay dances, it was on the whole not very entertaining. After showering earlier than on the first day, we ate disgusting dinner and went down for campfire. It was really entertaining as there was a lot of entertainment in store for us. After that, we went up to the hall for ANOTHER debrief and went to sleep AGAIN.
Third Day
We did the usual things, brushed our teeth, breakfast, bags up to classroom again. After that, they announced that we were not going to Labrador Park (ARGH!!) Instead, we played the game at the stuffy hall. The game went like this : 6C bomb, 6C bomb, 6C bomb to 6A bomb! Then, 6A would pass the bomb on to another person. Whoever did not respond in time would be disqualified. We were one of the champions that did not get bombed even once but again, no prizes. :(
Then, we built a stupid car out of vanguard sheets, masking tape and raffle string. We 'drove' it as the way the Flintstones did. It was called the F1 Grand Prix, but I don't know why. We lost at the first round, but as they progressed, they decided to call it a day and there was no proper winner.
They announced break camp after lunch at the hall. We went up with our form teacher to the classroom and she gave us some notices and we went off.
All in all, this camp was not very fun, but it taught me the importance of teamwork and working with people you may or may not like.
Special thanks to Coach Jeffrey and Coach Jeff, for organizing this camp for us. This also goes to Coach Nazreen and Coach Shiqin. For the other coaches and teachers, also a big thanks. :D
